Welcome to my blog!

I'm thirty-something living in Tokyo, the capital of Japan.  I wanted to start something new, so here I am starting a new blog about things I love: letters, postcards and traveling.  Traveling is my biggest passion.  If I could, I would travel all the time, but I know it won't happen unless I win a lottery!  So instead, I found another way to travel around the world; letters and postcards.  I love to send and receive letters and postcards, and I must admit that I'm addicted to them.  I love the idea that the letters and postcards actually travel before they arrive in my hands.  They help me to discover the world and learn other cultures and how it's like living in different places.  Big thanks to my dear penpals and people I've met via Postcrossing, I have learnt a lot about their countries and added so many places to my list of "Gotta Visit before I Die." :)

In this blog, I would love to share the postcards I've collected over the years and also the postcards that I've sent.  I'm also hoping to talk about letter-writing and traveling and how it's like living in Japan.  I hope I can keep this blog active and hopefully you will enjoy this blog! :)  All the postings will be written in both English and Japanese.

はじめまして。関東在住、手紙・絵葉書・旅行が大好きな日本人のブログです。春になり心機一転、何か始めたいと思い、新しくブログを開設しました。こちらのブログは基本英語での更新とし、日本語は要約して添える形にする予定です（対訳ではありません）。当ブログを英語メインとする目的は、色々な国の人達との「交流」を目的に文通やポスクロをしているので、ブログも同様に世界中の人達と交流するツールにしたいと考え、それなら英語の方がいいなという結論に至りました。

また、最近「英語は勉強したいが、何から始めればいいか分からないし、仕事で今すぐ必要でもないし、年中海外旅行に行くわけでもないし、要は英語を勉強する明確な目的が見つけられない。」という人が私の周りにいて、だったら、こんなところに、こんな風に英語を楽しく使う趣味がありますよ、というのをぜひご紹介したいたいなと考えたのでした。基本的に「反省しても後悔するな」がモットーなので、とりあえず始めてみた次第です。

当ブログでは、私が今までに集めた日本を含め世界中の絵葉書の紹介や、ポスクロの受領・発送の記録、文通や旅行等について綴っていく予定です。このブログを通じて、私の大好きな文通、ポスクロ、国際交流の楽しさが少しでも伝わってくれると嬉しいです。よろしくお願い致します。
