Outgoing letters/お手紙発送

How many pages do you write in average?  I usually write 6 to 12 A5 pages (front side only), and after writing 2 letters my hand gets numb.  Maybe I hold my pen too hard. :(  Last night I wrote 2 letters, 12 pages each, and I wonder if they can read my handwriting on the last page because that looked so messy...:p  By the way, some of my pals told me in their letters that they liked my letterset I used and wanted to know where they can find them, but I couldn't remember which letterset I used, so this time I decided to take the picture of the contents so that I remember which one I used and if I have extra, I can share them with them. :)

This is to my dear Malaysian penpal who now lives in Australia.  I enclosed some pictures from Tokyo. :)
We had many things to catch up with, so the letter got a bit longer this time.  I received her long letter in early summer after her few months of break in letter-writing as she was getting ready for her moving to Australia, and then I couldn’t write her back during the whole summer.

And I also enclosed a postcard of Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto in autumn time.  She was in Japan last autumn, and we met up for dinner.  At that time, she told me that she loved the autumn leaves a lot and even now still talks about it in her letters.  She wants to come back to Japan, next time in Kyoto for more historical sites, so I think she will like this card. :)
Last year, she was supposed to visit Japan in spring for cherry blossoms, but then we had the huge earthquake in March and so she had to postpone her trip to autumn.  She always says that next time she wants to visit here for cherry blossoms like she first planned, and I really hope it will happen for real in very near future and we can meet again!!! :D

And this one is for my German pal now living in Italy.  Some pictures of our food are enclosed as well.
I also enclosed a postcard from Arashiyama region in Kyoto in autumn.  I've been there in autumn time, and it's so beautiful there.  You can enjoy a river cruishing enjoying the gorgeous autumn colorful leaves. :)

  1. I usually write about 5-6 pages (A4 sized). I use A5 sized papers too, sometimes. :) I spotted the stamps! They're so beautiful!

    1. I like A4 size letter sheets but can't find many here. :( I often write over 10 pages, and the letter gets too fat and sometimes the letter can't fit in the regular envelope...:p Do you by the way always keep track of which lettersheets you used? Often my pals ask for the letter sheets I used, but I can't remember. I have to come up with some good organizing idea now!

  2. I rarely write less than 8 A5 sides, and it can go up to 20, 25... I couldn't really set an average because the length all depends on the paper I use: on unlined paper I fit way more words on one page than on lined paper.
Additionally, my handwriting is really small so I fit more informations in only one page than most of people. So my letters are actually longer than the number of pages let think.

    1. I've never written a letter more than 20 pages! Your penpals are lucky to read such long letters! :D I usually have to draw lines on blank paper because my handwriting can be SO messy. Can you write nicely without lines?

    2. Oh I don't write 20 pages for each letter! But I do have some very long letter pals and I love that :)

Well on unlined paper my handwriting tends to go up and down a lot, but it's still legible I think. I should draw lines just like you do however, it'd be much better!

  3. I have quite a small handwriting and I usually write on the front and back of a paper. I try to write at least 4 pages of A5 sized paper, but it also depends on how much space is taken in by the decoration. (Am I still making sense?)

    1. Yes, you make sense! :D By the way, what kind of pen do you usually use? I use 0.7 ballpoint pen that can draw a bit thicker line, but the problem with it is that if I write on the back side of the paper, you can see the ink on the front side as it comes through. But somehow my handwriting gets messy if I use thinner line pen. Hmm...

  4. Thank you for visiting me blog :)
I started pen palling again only recently, so most of my letters are still in the early stages. I have been writing about 4-5 A5 sheets, but with the pen pals who I have been writing for a longer time around 5-6 A4 pages. My handwriting is kind of tiny though :)

    1. Thanks for visiting my blog, too! I like your blog! :) Well, same here. My letter gets longer and longer with pals who I've been writing for a longer time. :) It's nice to see the friendship is growing!

  5. I don't know what's my average, depends on how long is a letter I got and how much I have to tell... but usually I have to tell a lot:P I think my last letter was 10 A5 sheets both sides but on a checkered paper I fit twice as much as I can on lined paper. But I often write more than that:)And on average I take 3 days to write one letter.
Maybe you should change a pen or make some breaks when you write so your hand doesn't hurt so much.
    I like that autumn postcard:)

    1. That's what I'm thinking...change my pen, but I like the texture of the ink of the pen I now use, so I don't know. I might try to find another pen with the similar ink texture so that it might be easier for me to write for a long time. My middle finger has a bent from holding the pen too hard! lol

  6. Well, I just started with pen palling so my letters aren`t that long. I use A4 paper, usually colored paper for printer, because I can`t find those nice letter sheets I sow you`re using. But I put some stickers on it :)
Ma handwriting is really small and I usually have a favourite pen to write with. At the moment that is one I got from Spain with Don Quijote on it.

    1. A pen with Don Quijote sounds cute. :) I also like put some stickers on blank paper to do my own decoration. I'm not that creative, but I still enjoy them. :)

  7. I don't have fixed answer for my average of pages used for letters as it really varies.
Anyway, I noticed your handwriting on the letter sheets and I must say that you have beautiful handwriting and does not look like typical writings of most Japanese! :)

    1. Thanks for your compliment on my handwriting! :) I'm not sure if you would say the same if you see my handwriting on my last page. lol It's a lot messier! :p I think my handwriting used to be typical Japanese writings, but while I was studying in Canada I had to take notes at classes in English that somehow changed my handwriting. Now I can write faster. :)
