Christmas stamps / クリスマス切手

Does your post office issue Christmas stamps?  Last week I bought Christmas stamps for this year, and here they are. :)  They're sticker-type stamps.
These are 50yen stamps.  You can send a postcard within Japan for 50yen.
These are 80yen stamps.  You can send a letter up to 25g within Japan for 80yen.
These are 90yen stamps.  You can send a letter up to 50g within Japan for 90yen.  With this stamp, you can also send a letter up to 25g to Asian countries.
These 50yen stamps are one of my favorite this year. :)  Esp. the one of the Christmas tree in its shape!
Have you started Christmas shopping?  When do you start writing Christmas cards?  Here in Japan, we send cards to our family and friends for the New Year's Day rather than Christmas, but we can still buy Christmas cards at stores.  I usually enclose Christmas cards with my letters written in early December, and after mid. December I enclose the New Year's cards instead. :)

クリスマス切手を買ってきました。もうこんな時期ですね。今年のデザインでは50円切手のツリーが一番好きです☆私は12月中旬位までに書いた手紙にはクリスマスカードを、それ以降はニューイヤーカードを同封するようにしています。

    1. I think Christmas stamps are kind of new here as I don't remember having such when I started penpalling. Oh, but it's more than a decade ago, so maybe I just don't remember...lol

    1. I should start looking for both Christmas and New Year's cards soon, too. I always run into the store at the last minute kind of person. :p

  3. Oh, I'm so jealous of those Japanese stamps! >x< I'm already sending out Christmas cards, because I send them with my letters (too expensive to send them seperate).

    1. Really? That's pretty fast! You're so good! :) I should do the same, but I haven't even bought any cards yet. Yes, I do the same thing. I enclose cards with my letters as it saves some postage!

  4. I love them! In Germany we do have christmas stamps, but not that many. I think usually it's one stamp per year, even though this year we also have the sixtine madonna. https://www.efiliale.de/efiliale/katalog/produkt.jsp?Item=prod54000232&parentCat=cat3190003 - that's the christmas stamp of this year. If you buy it, you pay more than the face value (the face value is 55 cent and you pay 80 cent) and the 25 extra cent are donated.

    1. I love the idea that you can donate through stamps. We had the same last year when we had the big earthquake. I bought SO many of the donation stamps and took me months to finish using them. :) German stamps are one of my favorites, by the way. I even bought some when I traveled your country of course knowing that I can't use them here in Japan. :D

  5. I don`t think we have Chrismas stamps here, or I just don`t know about them. I usually give my cards and letters to a post officer so he/she puts the stamps. I just give the money.
Those stamps are really cute. I like the puppy in the sock and the Chrismas tree a lot! :)

    1. Oh, so you don't buy the stamps? I sometimes bring my letters to the post office, and there I just pay the money and they take care of the postage. But they usually put this paper where the amount of postage is just printed to the envelope, not the stamps. I find it not that interesting, so I usually buy stamps and put them by myself. That's nice that they put stamps for you!

    2. I have bought stamps once for a penfriend, but they were really expensive. I know there are different stamps and for different amount of money, but I was a bit surprised when I heard the price. So, my post officer does all the work. :)

    1. That's too bad that you don't have Christmas stamps, but French stamps are often already pretty with their designs, so I would still be happy to have French stamps anyway. :D
